Welcome to the website
of the PANAM 2010, XVI Pan-American Conference of Traffic and
Transportation Engineering and Logistics, organized by CESUR /
Instituto Superior Técnico, from Lisbon, Portugal.
The organizing team is
an emerging young group of great potential, with internationally
recognised Transport researchers and a wide and multidisciplinary
research spectrum. Its 10 permanent members in charge of research
and teaching, plus 15 students with scholarships for Master and PhD
courses, usually cover 4 to 5 nationalities. The senior members of
this team have had a strong involvement in PANAM congresses
activities since 1995. Making the 16th PANAM Conference in Lisbon
will be of great importance for the networking of our younger
generation.
The PANAM is the most
important conference on transportation at the Iberian-American
context. It has been organized for more than 25 years, and gathers
technicians and researchers from all over the world, with a strong
participation from South America, Portugal and Spain.
In addition, the XVI
Pan-American Conference of Traffic and Transportation Engineering
and Logistics will be held immediately after the
12th WCTR Conference allowing
participants of the two conferences to enjoy this unique networking
opportunity having a full week in the beautiful city of Lisbon.
The XVI PANAM Congress
and the XII World Conference on Transport Research in 2010 in Lisbon
have received the formal endorsement of representatives of all
stakeholders, namely: Government, Public Administration, Foundation
for Science and Technology, Universities, and Transport and
Infrastructure Operators.
PANAM 2010 will be held on DECivil, Department of Civil Engineering
and Architecture of Instituto Superior Técnico. The DECivil is
located inside the Alameda Campus of IST, just a few minutes away
from the city center.
