Changes to the review process and conference payment
Important changes to the review process and conference payment were
announced today. Please see the message below which was sent to all
participants with accepted papers at the XVI PANAM, explaining these
changes.
Subject: XVI PANAM: Changes to the review process + conference
payment - URGENT
Dear author or co-author,
As you are probably aware, we are experiencing some delay with the
review of the papers submitted to the XVI PANAM Congress. This is
mainly due to the large amount of papers received and a detailed
review process.
Due to this delay, the Organizing Committee has decided to change
the rules of the review process as follows:
- The reviewers' comments will be sent to all authors not earlier
than Jun, 30th
- Authors must incorporate the reviewers' comments on their oral
presentations at the congress, and submit a revised version of their
papers until Sep, 15th.
- The proceedings that will be delivered at the congress will
include the first version of the papers;
- An electronic volume of Selected Proceedings, including only the
revised papers submitted until Sep., 15th will be published after
this date; this volume will be registered using the ISBN.
Despite these change in the review process, we want to reinforce
that your paper has been accepted for oral presentation at the
congress, and it will be duly announced in the program and in the
collection of pre-print papers of the conference. Eligible for the
final selected proceedings and possible publication in a special
issue of the journal NETS (Networks and Spatial Economics) indexed
in the ISI database, will depend on the evaluation of the paper and
the quality of oral presentations.
Furthermore, please note that only papers for which authors have
paid their registration until June 14th will be included in the
Congress Program and Proceedings.
Finally, we would like to warn you that the conference takes place
during the peak season in Lisbon, and so we strongly advise to book
your hotel as soon as possible so that you can benefit from the best
offers (see here how you can book your hotel:
http://www.panam2010.info/EN_003b.htm.
We hope the content of this message in clear but if you have any
further doubts do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to welcome you in Lisbon.
Best regards
Rosário Macário and José Viegas
